IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE DUCK RACE ORGANIZERS - Due to the dangerous conditions in the Credit River this year, we will not be putting the ducks in the water. We will STILL BE SELLING DUCK RACE TICKETS, the winners will just be selected like a normal raffle. We will pull 10 names out of a big bin. Please SPREAD THE WORD so that people DON'T SHOW UP TO THE RIVER AT 4PM to watch the race.
Annual festival celebrating Canada's Birthday. There is a parade at 12:00 led by a pipe band, many activities in the Glen Williams Ball Park, all free to the public.
This year we will be featuring several new items, with a ball game between the trappers and the voyagers, a bubble tent, and other fun activities. There will be an array of craft and local vendors Thee will also be a good selection of food and drinks (non alcoholic) on sale.
Come and visit our lovely hamlet, and enjoy a wonderful day in a beautiful setting.
Glen Williams Canada Day Schedule
8-11 AM: Breakfast in the Park, Served at the Food Booth
9 AM – 2 PM: Bubble Tent – Back Ball Diamond – see how many kinds you can blow
9:30 – 11 AM: History of Glen Williams Treasure Hunt
10 AM: A Baseball Game with a difference
10 AM: Historical Walking Tour – Meet at the Williams Mill – Upper Parking Lot
10 AM – 3 PM: Children’s Activities – under the trees in the park
10 AM – 3 PM: Face Painting at the picnic tables in the park
10 AM – 4 PM: Craft Vendors in the Gazebo Field
12 NOON: THE PARADE
Immediately following the parade the Opening Ceremonies will be held at the main stage in the Gazebo, followed by the presentation of Citizen of the Year, and the cutting of the Canada Day Cake.
1 – 3 PM: Strawberry Tea for Seniors
1:30 PM: Come and try The Cake Walk – front ball diamond
1:30 PM: Morris Men – in front of the Gazebo
2 PM: Cool Running Band at the Gazebo
2:30 PM: The Glen Pet Show, Front Ball Diamond – sponsored by Georgetown Animal Clinic, Back Diamond – Kick Nation
4 PM: The Duck Race (have you got your duck race tickets yet?) The ducks will leave the Park for their annual race down the Credit River. Please be aware that free parking is available at the Real Canadian Superstore, and two free shuttle buses to/from The Superstore and the Glen, PLEASE use this parking area. There is minimal parking in The Glen.
This will run from 9:30 AM – 5 PM, with a break for the parade 11:40 AM – 1:15 PM.
NOTE ALL ROADS INTO THE GLEN WILL BE CLOSED AT 11:30 – NO TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE GLEN AFTER THAT TIME UNTIL 1:30 PM.
