OVINO Farm and Dairy, located in Acton, Ontario is a sheep farm that produces lactose-free, sheep dairy products. In their mission to share their products and their flock, the workers at OVINO provide free farm tours to visitors on weekends - to explore, educate, and inspire. Recently featured in Halton Hills' newest media outlet Halton Hills Today, OVINO Farms is looking forward to welcoming new visitors to our community.

About OVINO

The Akras family at OVINO farm immigrated to Canada 30 years ago! Shortly after, they were disappointed to learn that sheep's milk was not widely-available in store. Once discovering the prevalence of lactose-intolerance in the world's population, they decided to raise their own sheep flock and produce sheep-dairy products. In 2018, OVINO moved from their farm in Campbellville to a new property in Acton, which now hosts over 700 sheep and counting!

Why sheep dairy?

Did you know over 70% of the world's population has difficulty digesting cow milk? In fact, sheep milk is the preferred source of dairy for millions of people globally. The farmers at OVINO say that not only does sheep milk digest in 1/4 of the time as cow milk, sheep products contain almost double the protein, minerals, and vitamins.

OVINO's Products

OVINO carries a number of delicious sheep-dairy products for you to try. Their feta cheese and milk are staple products. Want to take a tour?

If you find yourself without plans on Saturday, head to OVINO Farm and Dairy from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free tours show off the OVINO facility, lambs and large flock, and provide complimentary samples of yogurt, cheese, and milk! You can register for a tour on their Facebook page.

How to find OVINO Farm and Dairy

OVINO is located outside of Acton, Ontario at Highway 25 and 25th Sideroad. Less than an hour drive from Toronto, it is a great weekend adventure for the whole family!
